چکیده

Additive Manufacturing technology has continually advanced, allowing microstructure and property optimization. In recent years, several studies have been carried out with the aim of understanding mechanisms formation evolution and, consequently, their influence on mechanical properties. However, correlations between corrosion properties are not completely understood, making more systematic investigations necessary. this work, samples Ti-6Al-4V alloy were produced by combining different laser powers scanning speeds in order to generate energy density values (VED) subsequent microstructures The characterized optical electron microscopy, hardness relative density. Complementarily, tests out. For entire set parameters used, processed showed acicular martensite α´, followed levels porosity depending applied VED proved be an important control parameter, best combinations resistance obtained for parameter ratio that generated densities greater than 100 J/mm3.

3-dimensional Finite Element Modeling of Selective Laser Melting Ti-6al-4v Alloy

Selective laser melting (SLM) is widely used in making three-dimensional functional parts layer by layer. Temperature magnitude and history during SLM directly determine the molten pool dimensions and surface integrity. However, due to the transient nature and small size of the molten pool, the temperature gradient and the molten pool size are very challenging to measure and control. A 3-dimens...

Selective Laser Melting Produced Ti-6Al-4V: Post-Process Heat Treatments to Achieve Superior Tensile Properties

Current post-process heat treatments applied to selective laser melting produced Ti-6Al-4V do not achieve the same microstructure and therefore superior tensile behaviour of thermomechanical processed wrought Ti-6Al-4V. Due to the growing demand for selective laser melting produced parts in industry, research and development towards improved mechanical properties is ongoing. This study is aimed...

Laser Powder Cladding of Ti-6Al-4V α/β Alloy

Laser cladding process was performed on a commercial Ti-6Al-4V (α + β) titanium alloy by means of tungsten carbide-nickel based alloy powder blend. Nd:YAG laser with a 2.2-KW continuous wave was used with coaxial jet nozzle coupled with a standard powder feeding system. Four-track deposition of a blended powder consisting of 60 wt % tungsten carbide (WC) and 40 wt % NiCrBSi was successfully mad...

Residual Stress, Defects and Grain Morphology of Ti-6Al-4V Alloy Produced by Ultrasonic Impact Treatment Assisted Selective Laser Melting

For large-scale selective laser melting (SLM) additive manufacturing technology, three main problems severely restrict its development and application, namely the residual stress, defects, and columnar grains with anisotropy. To overcome these problems, a new method is proposed by combining SLM with ultrasonic impact treatment (UIT) technique. This study explores the feasibility of UIT assisted...
